Social Media meets AbeTech

MySpace was once the most popular social networking site on the internet. Between 2005 and 2008, it seemed like everyone had a MySpace account. However, a new social network came into play in late 2004 and slowly began to expand. Now, with over 1 billion users and more added every day, Facebook is one of the largest social media sites in the world.

Once a popular college student network, they expanded to include first high school kids in 2005, then everyone with a valid email address in 2006. Now in 2014, Facebook is filled with kids and adults of all ages. Even grandparents are getting in on the game. Adults are taking over not only Facebook, but Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Teenagers are, of course, still using these sites but nearly three-quarters of U.S. adults are using some form of social media. This creates a serious opportunity for businesses.

With so many adults using social media, companies are able to advertise easily, knowing they’ll reach their target audience. Though some sites will charge you to reach out to your clients, others freely allow you to advertise as often as you want. The best part about social media is that all of these sites easily interconnect. You no longer have to post the same thing to each site individually. Now you can post a picture to Instagram and have it upload to all your synced networks. If you want to target different demographics for different sites, you can still do individual posts. This way you can spread information quickly and easily in a way that appeals to the masses.

AbeTech sees this as an advantage. We have taken the step to use social media to allow customers easy access to useful information. LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are our three primary social media outlets. We use these networks to directly connect with current clients and potential customers.
